The Weekly Tittle is an exercise designed to focus your attention on a specific space, aspect, or challenge of decluttering and organizing your home. We assign a new tittle in each webcast/podcast, then check on your progress the following week.
Looking for a Hero
This week’s assignment is to consider whether hiring a service provider might be the best solution to a challenge you’re facing.
- Reflect on your ongoing and planned decluttering and organizing projects.
- Identify the most troublesome aspects of the work. Start by asking yourself these questions:
- What’s the most physically demanding component of the project?
- What’s the most tedious or time-consuming component?
- What feels most like a waste of your valuable time?
- Are there any project components that you feel might be beyond your technical capabilities, such as selling items online?
- What feels like it might be beyond your physical capacity?
- What would you just rather not do yourself?
- What could someone else accomplish much more quickly than you could?
- What project component requires skills or equipment that you don’t possess?
- Set aside 15 minutes this week to research service providers who could help with one of the difficult project components you identified.
- Optional: Set aside additional time to solicit one or more estimates, then work up a budget and timeline for the project.
