The Clutter Fairy Weekly #302
Everything But the Sink: Declutter and Organize Kitchen Contents
What belongs in the kitchen? It seems like an easy question to answer, but lots of stuff ends up there by default or because the kitchen just happens to be on the way to everywhere else. In episode #302 of The Clutter Fairy Weekly, Gayle Goddard, professional organizer and owner of The Clutter Fairy in Houston, Texas, examines kitchen contents from a fresh angle and suggests strategies to streamline your kitchen to be lean, clean, and ready for essential kitchen tasks.

The Weekly Tittle is an exercise designed to focus your attention on a specific space, aspect, or challenge of decluttering and organizing your home. We assign a new tittle in each webcast/podcast, then check on your progress the following week.
Three Strikes
This week’s assignment is to lighten your kitchen clutter by eliminating some of the items we’ve talked about today:
- Identify one item from each of these three categories:
- Non-kitchen items that have found their way to the kitchen
- Kitchen-adjacent items that could more reasonably be stored elsewhere
- Excessive kitchen contents that you’re ready to part with.
- Relocate the first two items to more appropriate places elsewhere in your home.
- Gift, donate, or discard the excessive kitchen contents you’ve identified in the third category.
