The Weekly Tittle is an exercise designed to focus your attention on a specific space, aspect, or challenge of decluttering and organizing your home. We assign a new tittle in each webcast/podcast, then check on your progress the following week.
Seek Peace in the Emptiness
This week’s assignment is to begin to prepare yourself for the eventual day when your decluttering and organizing is in full-on maintenance mode.
- Reflect on activities that the clutter in your home is currently preventing, disrupting, or impeding.
- Jot down your answers to these questions:
- What leisure pursuits do you neglect because you feel as if you should be working instead?
- What physical activities, such as dance, yoga, or stretching, would you like to be able to perform in your space?
- What creative activities have you avoided because you don’t have the space or for fear of making more clutter?
- What social or community activities has clutter stopped you from hosting in your home?
- What new family activities or traditions would you like to start if you had the time and space?
- Save your answers and return to this exercise again in six months or a year.
