Spring in the northern hemisphere is here, bringing warmer days, longer hours of sunshine, and a sense of fresh possibilities. Let’s take advantage of an early-spring day to “spring forward” on a few household organizing tasks. In episode #162 of The Clutter Fairy Weekly, Gayle Goddard, professional organizer and owner of The Clutter Fairy in Houston, Texas, shines daylight into neglected corners of our homes and offers a list of simple tasks to kick off your spring cleaning regimen.

Weekly Tittle

The Weekly Tittle is an exercise designed to focus your attention on a specific space, aspect, or challenge of decluttering and organizing your home. We assign a new tittle in each webcast/podcast, then check on your progress the following week.

Spring Cleaning

This week’s assignment is unusually simple:

  • Pick one or more areas or categories on the list we covered in this episode, and try to make progress on it this week:
    1. lotions, potions, and makeup
    2. floor of your closet
    3. stuff for donation
    4. the junk drawer
    5. medicine cabinet
    6. linen closet
    7. magazines or catalogs
    8. old mail
    9. cabinets under the sink
    10. laundry room
    11. filing cabinet drawer
    12. kids’ clothes
    13. kids’ school papers
    14. refrigerator
    15. purse or wallet
    16. outdated electronics
    17. patio, balcony, deck or porch
    18. coffee table and end tables
