Weekly Tittle

The Weekly Tittle is an exercise designed to focus your attention on a specific space, aspect, or challenge of decluttering and organizing your home. We assign a new tittle in each webcast/podcast, then check on your progress the following week.

With Gratitude

This week’s assignment is to set an item free and to express your gratitude for the role or meaning that it once held for you.

  • Identify something that belonged either to a phase of your life that’s over, or to a dream or aspiration that you no longer embrace.
  • Reflect on the purpose or meaning that the item once fulfilled in your life.
  • Do any activity that will allow you to express your feelings about this object:
    • Write about whatever you feel toward the item: gratitude, regret, fondness, resentment, etc.
    • Take a photo of the object if you’d like to be able to keep the memory of it fresh.
    • Create a drawing, painting, scrapbook page, or another artistic expression of your emotions around the item.
  • Set the item free—with gratitude—by donation, gift, or disposal.
