For this week’s assignment, we’d like you to evaluate your present living situation with a view toward how well it will support your future self:
- Independence: Will your housing circumstances permit you to continue to drive, shop, and otherwise maintain your independence as you grow older?
- Safety: Can you move in and out of and around your home with ease, and would you be able to continue to do so if your health and mobility were to decline?
- Security: How easy is it for you to get from the car to the house or apartment? Is your space secure against intruders? Would you feel safe as an elderly person in your current neighborhood?
- Comfort: Can you store, find, and retrieve everything you need to go about your daily routines in ease and comfort?
