| Share a word, a few words, a phrase, or more to describe the CURRENT or USUAL condition of your primary bedroom. | Right now it looks pretty good. Buying new bedding and reorganizing the side table has made me want to live up to the beauty of it. I do a lot of reading and working on some quiet projects in the bedroom, so I need to "refresh" it every once in awhile. I just feel good with books around me...a comfort thing. When I was in college I used to sit at the head of my bed with my books in an arc in front of me... |
| Share a description of the IDEAL state of your main bedroom. We’re talking aspirations here, so feel free to write in terms of appearance, mood, activities, contents, decor, or whatever elements would make your bedroom “just right”! | To have it be a place of beauty and tranquility...not like it needs a major overhaul when time gets short to keep up on it. |
| What factor or factors stand in the way of having the “just right” bedroom you described above? | Not having (or taking) the time in small swatches to keep it attractive. I have the same issue with my armoire. Yesterday I ended up having to refresh a couple of the shelves and found some items I was missing...now they're in their right "home." Each time I think it will be easy. All it takes is two or three times of "later" and it's easy for it to get messed up. |
| List an item currently in your primary bedroom that you acknowledge has absolutely no business being in the bedroom. | Well, possibly my box for donations. It's a convenient location and out of continual eyesight of DH; he spends most of his time in the living room. Every once in awhile he gets on my case about it. |
| Here’s your chance to ask Gayle and Ed any question you’re curious about. It need not be related to this survey’s topic(s). If we think that your question—and our answer—might be useful or instructive to The Clutter Fairy Weekly audience, we’ll share them in an upcoming episode. | This isn't a question, but rather a suggestion (don't remember if it comes after stating my name). I've been reading a book called ATOMIC HABITS by James Clear. It's not clutter-specific, but I think it would be a helpful book to go through. The author goes through some things (like combining tasks/habits which I know Gayle has mentioned) which I think would be helpful for the audience. He goes through creating good habits and how to get rid of bad ones. Further into the book he talks about it all being based on your identity (i.e., I want to be known as a person who...). |
| Future topics | I put it in the "Ask Us Anything" section: ATOMIC HABITS by James Clear as a book to review with the audience. |
