Describe ways in which aging has negatively affected your ability, willingness, or desire to declutter or organize your home. With my asthma, etc. I have less energy per day. Like I have 15 spoons of energy instead of 26 and it takes me three spoons just to get dressed. It has always been hard to let go of things and it still is. It’s hard to keep up with a basic cleaning maintenance and harder than ever to get extra time for decluttering.
Describe ways in which getting older has positively affected your ability, willingness, or desire to declutter or organize your home. Now that my son is grown up, I know that most of my stuff he will not want. And since I am closer than ever to possibly moving to a Retirement ranch where I will have less room I’m feeling it’s more urgent to get rid of stuff and thin the herd. I have a realtor and I am asking myself. do you want to pay movers to move this and then have your new space overly stuffed?
Describe ways in which you’d like for your space and belongings to better support your goals and dreams for the next years of your life.I would like to find a perfect retirement ranch with a fenced backyard with easy access for my medium size dog. I would like the laundry to be on the same first floor level. I would like a separate bedroom or space to have my art studio and Office separate from the living room For a change. Plus, still have room for guests so my son can come and stay I would like it to feel spacious like a vacation cottage.
Here’s your chance to ask Gayle and Ed any question you’re curious about. It need not be related to this survey’s topic(s). If we think that your question—and our answer—might be useful or instructive to The Clutter Fairy Weekly audience, we’ll share them in an upcoming episode.I have I know everybody is different, but I wonder if you could come up with something like the idea of a capsule wardrobe. Obviously it won’t work for everyone, but what is a good number of items that will probably do just fine for example 3 nighties . 10 pants. 10 T-shirts. 10 shoes. Wouldn’t my life be easier to manage if that is all I had lol maybe I should stick with the number 10? 10 dresses. 10 hats. 10 socks. 10 bras and 10 underpants. Just as a place to start?

Might be hard to do for the other rooms of the house, but I’m talking about for just one person who lives alone

To complete sets of sheets and bedding. 10 towels, 10 washcloths. Etc. on through the house.
