I know it's bonkers, but I don't like throwing any well-used clothing, especially under-garments. It feels wrong to just throw it in the trash, and I honestly don't use rags, plus already have a lot.
What specific categories or types of clothing do you most struggle to manage? Not sure. I do hate going from winter to summer and back again, and put it off.
Here’s your chance to ask Gayle and Ed any question you’re curious about. It need not be related to this survey’s topic(s). If we think that your question—and our answer—might be useful or instructive to The Clutter Fairy Weekly audience, we’ll share them in an upcoming episode. The different sizes / weight question.
I went from decades of being in the 150-170 range, and had clothing for this. Then during the pandemic my husband and I went on a diet because we were scared about the COVID risk of being overweight, and I dropped to 125. It was amazing! And I kept the weight off for about 2 1/2 years. Then it started to come back on, especially as we were both writing our dissertations. Now I'm back in the 150s. It is so comforting to pull out all my old pants, because they fit me, and all my new thinner clothes don't. But I do hope to lose the weight again. So I don't want to donate them all. I have a bin under the bed where I put clothes that don't fit. (Used to be they were too large, now they're too small.)

Another big problem I have is that I'm just not that savvy about buying clothes. I don't follow fashion. I don't really have a great grasp on what would look good on me. I'm in Zumba and line dance classes and everyone turns out so cute and stylish. Now I know that mostly that isn't me. But I don't want to reject looking more spiffy. I think I buy and hold on to clothes because I'm fumbling around trying to find what looks good, but I'm not very sure of myself.
