How to manage a cleaner amidst decluttering.
A cleaner would occasionally come to my home, and for a long time I thought yhis was helping me declutter because I could focus on decluttering and not so much cleaning. I recently realized, though, that it was hindering me as well: she would stack all papers, group unrelated things, and I was paranoid that she was secretly disapproving of my craft “messes” which were, in reality- spaces where I was decluttering by using up my craft supplies- your last episode abd saying well maybe eating is getting in the way of making, or something along those lines made me realize that. So in the end, week after week, my decluttering spaces were getting “tidied” by being shoved together, stored, and stopped. I’ve improved my own cleaning habits- and now decluttering goes hand in hand with tidying up. I have a lot of room for improvement and I feel guilty for not calling in the cleaner as she needs that job- but omg do I feel tremendous relief and freedom. And oh, all thd things I’ve made in the meantime! Looking forward to tidying up this weekend as I think my craft supplies will take up less space as a lot of fabric has been used! Yippeee!!! Phew! I know there’s the option of just telling the cleaner to clean around the supplies and projects- but some cleaners can be quite stubborn or stuck in habit- was wondering how others manage this. Thanks.
