Survey #241—Full Response from Granny

January 10, 2025
How often are you troubled by clutter in the kitchen and/or pantry? My kitchen usually has some clutter.
What sources of clutter or specific issues do you experience in the kitchen or pantry? There is no problem using the kitchen, it's just aesthetics. Sometimes it's distracting having too many things on my island, but there's plenty of space.
What organizing solutions or strategies have you tried or used in the kitchen, and how have they worked—or failed to work—for you?My pantry is very well organized and it's easy for me to see what I have and what I need to buy.
My kitchen is fairly well organized and it's easy to get items into the pantry and out of sight when we have friends/family over for large events and we need the island to serve food.
I think the problem with me is that I'm an "out of sight, out of mind" kind of person for certain items. If I think about them, I know where they are exactly, but if I don't see them they don't readily come to mind (food items that may go bad, for example).
What “one-trick pony” resides in your kitchen or pantry? Why do you keep it?Juicer machine! You made me remember it and I can't remember when I last used it...
Future topics

I have a timetable for the year set out (not as detailed as daily, but up to weekly) to finish a project and so far I have done NOTHING on this. How do I get motivated (it's a book project, but requires sorting and scanning photos and documents as well as writing). Please help!
