Which of the following statements best describes your living situation?I have no (human) children.
Please complete the following statement:
  • “Since I can’t blame my children for my clutter, I choose to blame…”
I choose to blame myself. My mother was a collector, but she blamed it on the depression. I grew up saving EVERYTHING becaue "we might need it later." That was the attitude of my parents' generation. It was as if we could not buy it if we needed it later.

But my mother also collected sentimental items. She would NEVER get rid of something one of her children gave her (or anybody else, for that matter). Now I'm cleaning out my garage because I am now old, and I am trying to get rid of my stuff (which was in my storage unit) as well as hers. Remembering all the memoribalia that sat on her what-not shelves is so difficult. Nobody else wants this stuff. My daughter passed away and my granddaughter is a minimalist and has practically nothing in her home. I even have my wooden highchair, which should be an antique, but I see them online for $35 - $50. Aaaack!
What environmental or social issues most concern you with respect to your efforts to declutter, organize, and maintain your home?I only donate to the Salvation Army, where I know it will go to good use and not to line somebody's pockets moneywise.
What outdoor activity or activities tend to take time away from your indoor chores in the warmer months?Don't spend too much time outdoors in South/Central Tx. It's too hot and humid. I have no excuse.
Here’s your chance to ask Gayle and Ed any question you’re curious about. It need not be related to this survey’s topic(s).How is the best way, in your opinion, to get rid of antique small things? Do you think it would be worth my while to check with shops? That could take forever.
Future topics

I have all kinds answers. I just need to do the things suggested.
