Survey #206 Response from Maureen

PronounsShe/her
What is the “canary in the coal mine” that alerts you that your decluttering and organizing habits are starting to slip? In other words, where does clutter first reappear in your life or your home? When the dining room table looks like a shipping facility. All the mail and Amazon deliveries end up there -- waiting to be opened or returned. We seriously used to have people over for dinner.
What external factors (conditions, circumstances, situations, etc.) or internal conditions (moods, emotional states, health concerns, etc.) tend to disrupt your productive habits and routines or your motivation to declutter and organize?Go to work, come home, make and eat dinner (not at the dining room table), throw in a load of laundry, watch a little TV and fall asleep.
What was the last item that you decided to keep “just in case”?Our late dog's toys, food and water bowls, steps to our bed -- thinking maybe our daughter will have a dog one day and somehow it's like our dog is still around.
Here’s your chance to ask Gayle and Ed any question you’re curious about. It need not be related to this survey’s topic(s).Hi Gayle and Ed!
Want you both to know how much I enjoy and learn from The Clutter Fairy Weekly. Recently I went back and watched several episodes again and it truly has helped and inspired me to declutter. My goal for this year is to have people over for dinner (like we used to).
Don't know if it's ever been done, but a few topics I wondered if you could address are clothing (I have a shop full of sizes in my closet and really need to just donate as I learned it's not worth the time and effort of Facebook Marketplace), yard sales (our block wants to have another, and even though I didn't make much money, it did force me to get things out of my house we no longer needed and what didn't sell went straight to the charity thrift store), and finally that Book Club idea you mentioned a few episodes back. I keep a book in my car or in my purse to read while waiting at doctor's appointments, having the car oil changed, waiting to pick someone up at airport, etc. (yes, somehow I have time for that and not cleaning off my dining room table :). Best to you both!
