What is the “canary in the coal mine” that alerts you that your decluttering and organizing habits are starting to slip? In other words, where does clutter first reappear in your life or your home?My dining/kitchen table becomes cluttered as it is only four feet away from the entrance to our apartment. Then the kitchen counters become cluttered, and then stuff starts to pile up on the floor. It is a small one-bedroom apartment which I share with my DH. The battle against clutter is an ongoing concern.
What external factors (conditions, circumstances, situations, etc.) or internal conditions (moods, emotional states, health concerns, etc.) tend to disrupt your productive habits and routines or your motivation to declutter and organize?I have serious health problems which greatly limit my strength and endurance. By the time a load of laundry is started, the dishwasher emptied and my husband's work lunch made, I have nearly used up my strength for the day. I need to rest and recuperate so that I might shower and work on a project such as paying bills, working on taxes, dust and sweep, or declutter.
What was the last item that you decided to keep “just in case”?Social Security Statements saying what DH's wages are.
