Survey #191 Response from Sara J

← Go back

November 17, 2023

PronounsShe/her
In most years, do you make at least one New Year’s resolution?Yes
How successful are you usually in keeping your New Year’s resolutions?
Somewhat unsuccessful
How would you most like for 2024 to be different from 2023?I would like to follow a new formula I happened upon in 2023: Saying to myself, "Sara J, you of all people know what being celebrated feels like compared to being forgotten. Therefore, please try everyday to give what you can of the stuff you hoarded for yourself to other beings and people!"
Referring specifically to your answer to the previous question, what do you plan to do to make your vision for 2024 come true?To help keep myself giving in 2024 if I run out of steam, i will begin making plans for a time when I've given everything unnecessary away... In which case I will start offering classes or podcasts or magazine articles or a book that will be in itself a gift to at least some of the people who hear/see it.
Where will you be and what will you be doing when the clock strikes midnight to ring in 2024?In about 6 weeks, on December 31st, 2023, I will most likely be with friends and/or family, and very likely in the NorthEast of the US.
Here’s your chance to ask Gayle and Ed any question you’re curious about. It need not be related to this survey’s topic(s).In order to stave off Seasonal Affective Disorder, or S. A. D., did either of you ever think: that the wintertime is like night? It is a time for rest. And it is followed by Spring, like night is followed by Day, at least, that's been my experience!
Future topics

In Spring 2023 (Match through May), my stepmother helped me get rid of about 1/4 of the stuff in my 550 sq ft apt. Goodwill, Trash, Recycle, and their garage alcove. Very important: With hoarded collections gone, in 6 months (May to November), almost perfect order is reigning here now! And, as promised, within one calendar year (March to March!), I've begun to make keep/toss decisions about stuff in my mother's garage! I brought an empty mini 3-drawer shelf home today to put some paper files in... ("tied to a gnat's ass!" ~ turns out I like complete order in my archives!!!) 💖🏡🧓🌞👋🏼🕊️🗂️📤📥🌛😺🐶
