What factors do you consider when you’re thinking about giving things away to family members, friends, neighbors, or other people you know?I think about if they would like to have them. If they are excited or happy to receive the item it brings me joy. I don't force things on anyone, I only offer.
What factors do you consider when you’re thinking about donating items to a charity, shelter, or unknown recipient? If I think the item can be sold I might try to sell it first. I won't bother if the price would be less than $30. That's my cut-off.

If I can't sell it, I will try to find someone I know who might want it.

Here’s your chance to ask Gayle and Ed any question you’re curious about. It need not be related to this survey’s topic(s).Not a question, but my friend used to throw this annul clothing exchange party. Only women. Everyone would bring the clothes that they were ready to donate. You could bring as much or as little as you wanted. You could take as much or as little as you wanted. No rules. Everyone would get drunk and try on each other's clothes. Every year the party got bigger. More people. More sizes. More types of items. So much fun. Everything leftover would go to either Dress for Success or the woman's shelter. I remember once helping to clean up and I filled my car with 26 large garage bags of clothes for charity. I always came home with the best stuff, and it was a great way to clean out my closet. One of the highlights of the year. Clean your closet and get free clothes! Win-win
