Please select the statement that best describes your future plans with regard to moving:I plan to move within the next six months.
Describe any thoughts and feelings that the idea of moving invokes for you, or any positive or negative connotations that moving carries. (This might include memories of past moves, plans for future moves, or your experience with someone else’s move that was significant for you.)I've recently been hired for a new job that starts the 1st of May and having to start packing and figuring out moving so quickly is very stressful. I was in the middle of vacation when I found out about being offered the job so that cut into some planning time and was actually cut short so I could go in person to do some onboarding things. I also struggle with adjusting to new environments and have experienced pest problems in the past when moving to a new space so my anxiety immediately goes to something going wrong. I worry it is a bit PTS related at this point and it's triggered when I'm moving into different apartments. I'm hoping that one day I can just own my own stand alone house so that I can help alleviate some of that anxiety and finally have one place i can call my own. I've lived out of my car before and off people's couches so I know it's something I can manage but have trouble reminding myself of. For this move I'll have a double lease for almost 2 months so I do have time to do some weekend trips back and forth to get belongings.
Consider the present condition of your home and its contents, and then answer this question: If you had to move from your home in a short timeframe, what would the greatest challenges be?Packing quickly and having a comfortable means to move from one place to the other
If money, logistics, work, citizenship, travel time, etc., were no obstacle, where would your ideal place to live be? (For example: Ed would like to live in a penthouse in the heart of Rome with a place in the Alban Hills where he’d go on the weekend. He can dream, can’t he?)Honestly I would love a house just outside a city so it's not too quiet, not too loud. The luxury of big city living with the comfort of coziness in my own space
Here’s your chance to ask Gayle and Ed any question you’re curious about. It need not be related to this survey’s topic(s). If we think that your question—and our answer—might be useful or instructive to The Clutter Fairy Weekly audience, we’ll share them in an upcoming episode. What are the 3 things that stress you out most about moving and decluttering? What tips or tricks do you have to manage those stresses or worries?
