Is your inbox up to 800 items yet? Does the thought of organizing your e-mail give you the willies? Just as you’ve learned a process to handle your paper mail, you need some strategies to cope with your electronic mail. How do you sort it? Where do you file it? What goes in the trash?
Your mailbox and your inbox present many of the same challenges. We’ll offer some great ideas to help you organize your electronic data, whatever e-mail program you use. You’ll learn how to keep your inbox from getting out of control and how to make sense of the stuff you keep so you can retrieve vital information when you need it. Learn how to make e-mail work for younot vice versa.
Conquering Clutter 201: Your E-mail offers tools and strategies to help you use e-mail more effectively; it is NOT a hands-on computer lab to teach beginners how to use e-mail software. Workshop participants are expected to already have a basic familiarity with an e-mail application (Outlook, Outlook Express, Entourage, Eudora, etc.) or a web-based e-mail system (Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo, etc.) Participants may bring a laptop computer to the workshop if desired.
The workshop begins with a three-hour weekend session where we’ll explore e-mail organizing concepts and strategies. After you’ve had a few days to implement what you’ve learned, we’ll reconvene for a follow-up session to check your progress, answer your new questions, and share additional material.
